VERSAILLES — The St. Marys baseball team got a pair of complete games on the mound and never trailed during a road doubleheader sweep of Versailles on Saturday. Brandon Coffey and Tristan Becker both went the distance in 4-1 and 6-2 victories.
St. Marys improved to 7-1 with the wins and will host Shawnee in a Western Buckeye League contest on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Robert Henry Niemeyer, 84, of 08816 Washington Pike, Wapakoneta, died at 9 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at his residence, following a short illness.
He was born on July 28, 1929, in Moulton, the son of Gustave and Elsie (Buddemeyer) Niemeyer.
He married Mary L. Rohr on Nov. 7, 1949, in New Knoxville, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2014.
Gilbert F. “Bud” Ice, 96, of 06433 IOOF Road, Spencerville, died unexpectedly at 8:05 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, in the emergency department of St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1917, in St. Marys, the son of Gilbert and Florence (Croft) Ice.
He married Jeanette Roberts on Aug. 15, 1966, and she preceded him in death on June 11, 1993.
Charles H. Frey, 85, formerly of 712 S. Main St., in St. Marys, died at 7:09 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Wapak Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on July 17, 1928, in St. Marys, to Lewis Edward and Clara Mae (Moore) Frey.
On Oct. 22, 1949, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, he married Irene A. Braun, who died on Dec. 7, 2013.

Dennis D. “Denny” Lhamon, 56, of St. Marys, died at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1957, in St. Marys, to Doyle M. and Doris M. (Howell) Lhamon who preceded him in death.
ST. MARYS — The circus is coming to town and visitors can get an up close look at some of nature’s largest creatures while helping local children at the same time.
The St. Marys Rotary Club is bringing the Kelly Miller Circus in for two performances on May 17. The circus, which will have shows at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Skip Baughman Stadium that day, is part of a fundraiser to help the Rotary Club revamp the playground equipment at K.C. Geiger Park.
Collette S. Weaver, 60, of New Bremen, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014, in Greenville.
Collette was born Aug. 29, 1953, in Greenville, to John and Marybel (Schlecty) Weaver of Versailles.
In addition to her parents, Collette is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Kristin Weaver of Versailles; sisters and brother-in-law, Jill Brown, of Houston, Texas, and Beth and Clayton Watkins of Wheaton, Ill.; and nieces and nephews, Alex Weaver, Molly Weaver, Tim Weaver, Sam Brown, John Brown, William Watkins and Olivia Watkins.
MINSTER — One run was enough in a game matching up the two best pitchers in the Midwest Athletic Conference.
Minster’s Marissa Conrad ripped an RBI single over the third base bag off Parkway’s Sierra Fent in the bottom of the third inning for what proved to be the game-winning — and lone — run batted in the Wildcats’ 1-0 win over Parkway on Wednesday night at Four Season’s Park.
