NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Cardinals softball team recovered from a shaky start and had an eight-run fifth inning to come back and defeat the Marion Local Flyers 15-12 in a MAC contest Monday at New Bremen.
“We gave them a five spot in the first inning,” Cardinals head coach Craig Griesdorn. “But we responded with three in the bottom of the first. They came back with six but we came back from an 11-3 deficit and the reason why we did that was that we cleaned up our errors and we put the ball in play.”
FT. LORAMIE — Needing two wins in the Fort Loramie four-team tournament to give head coach Mike Wiss his 300th victory and a tourney title, in the first game the Minster baseball team coasted to a 13-2 five inning victory over the Covington Buccaneers and in the championship game jumped out to a big first inning lead and held on to defeat the hosting Redskins 10-6.
