The Minster Wildcats boys basketball team’s first season under Mike McClurg ended on Tuesday night as Perry’s all-night full-court pressure and occasional offensive runs were just too much to handle for the Wildcats in a 62-50 Division IV district semifinal at Wapakoneta High School.
This is where they wanted to be and they made it back there.
A dominating third-quarter performance paved the way for the Minster Wildcats to get back to a regional semifinal after defeating Upper Scioto Valley 73-52 in a district championship on Saturday at Wapakoneta High School.
In an otherwise defensive battle, Courtney Prenger shined.
The sophomore post scored a game-high 19 points — at one point outscoring the entire New Bremen Cardinals team — in leading the Minster Wildcats back to a district final in a 39-23 semifinal victory on Thursday.
