Area soccer, volleyball teams get tournament pairings

Area soccer and volleyball teams received their draws for the 2013 fall OHSAA tournaments on Sunday.

DIVISION II BOYS SOCCER

The St. Marys boys soccer team received a bye  and will play its tournament opener on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at Ryan Field in Wapakoneta. The Roughriders, who lead the Western Buckeye League standings with one game to play will take on the winner of the 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14 Celina-Kenton game. The sectional title winner at Wapakoneta moves on to the district at Elida Middle School to face the winner of Ottawa-Glandorf and Bryan.

On the other side of the bracket, Wapakoneta will play Lima Bath on Monday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. at Ryan Field in Wapakoneta. The winner faces Lima Shawnee at Wapakoneta.


DIVISION II GIRLS SOCCER

The St. Marys girls soccer play Wapakoneta in a Division II sectional final match at Celina on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. The winner will play the Bath vs. Kenton/Defiance winner on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at Elida in a district semifinal.

Celina plays Van Wert in a sectional final at Celina on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. The winner plays the winner of Elida/Lima Shawnee at Elida on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.


DIVISION II VOLLEYBALL

The St. Marys volleyball team drew Lima Bath in the Division II sectional at Lima Senior High School on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.  

St. Marys swept the Wildkittens in three sets earlier this season. The winner of the St. Marys-Bath match will play Van Wert in a sectional final at Lima Senior.

Wapakoneta and Celina will play at Lima Senior in the bottom portion of the bracket and will face the winner of Elida and Lima Shawnee.


DIVISION III BOYS SOCCER

The New Knoxville boys soccer team will play Lima Temple Christian on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Lima Stadium in a Division III sectional final game. The winner of the game between the Rangers and Pioneers advanced to play at the Kalida district against the winner of Kalida vs. Continental/Fort Jennings.

In the other game at Lima Stadium on Oct. 15, Spencerville will play Lima Central Catholic. The winner of that match advances to play Lincolnview in the sectional title game.


DIVISION IV VOLLEYBALL

The New Knoxville volleyball team will play Spencerville in a Division IV sectional semifinal at Coldwater on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. The winner play s St. Henry on Oct. 17.

New Bremen and Minster will play each other in the other sectional semifinal at Coldwater on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. The winnner plays the state’s top-ranked Marion Local Flyers.
