MINSTER — The Minster girls basketball team picked up their second win of the season as they hosted non-league opponent Mississinawa Valley Tuesday night.

The Wildcats quickly jumped to a big halftime lead and never looked back in a 58-31 win in their home opener.

Minster led 30-8 at the half.

“Everybody got a lot of playing time today and it’s early so everybody needs too and that’s important,” said Minster head coach Nann Stechschulte. “Sometimes when you do that you lose the flow of the game with different people going in and out and different combinations. Early in the season I think it is very important everybody gets on the floor and feels comfortable.”

The Wildcats were led by senior and captain forward Bridget Geiger’s 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Richard finished with seven points and five steals. Fischer had eight points and six assists. Cathy Prenger added seven points for the Wildcats and Liening had six markers.

Minster returns to action Saturday when they host Lehman Catholic. Minster junior varsity team will take on Ft. Loramie at 1 p.m.
