Hensley Resigns

January 15, 2014

WAPAKONETA — Auglaize County Administrator Mike Hensley resigned without notice at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

“We accepted his resignation and that’s all there is at this time,” Auglaize County Commissioner John Bergman said Tuesday afternoon.

Hensley became county administrator on Feb. 1, 2012, replacing Joe Lenhart, who held the position for 12 years.

Before accepting the job as county administrator, Hensley worked as a quality improvement manager and ombudsman with Allen County Children Services. He also served as a chief probation officer with Allen County Juvenile Court and as a residential administrator with the Association for Retarded Citizens before accepting the position with Allen County Children Services.

Bergman said no replacement has been announced and that the commissioners are focusing on other projects at the moment.

“We’re working on some things we started that we need to get momentum on and then we’re going to work on finding a replacement,” Bergman said. “But we’ll be proceeding down that road fairly shortly.”

Bergman said he made all department heads and other county officials aware of the resignation.

Hensley was not available and did not immediately respond to an e-mail request for comment.
