Jack J. Emrick, 45

Jack J. Emrick, 45, of Wapakoneta, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Lima Memorial Health System, Emergency Room, from injuries suffered in an accident at his home site near Wapakoneta.

He was born on Feb. 7, 1966, in Lima, the son of James Walker and Ruth (Thuman) Emrick. His mother survives in Wapakoneta, and his father died on April 19.

He is survived by his partner, Lisa Bowman; a daughter, Brooke Emrick of Miami, Fla.; a son, Reid Walker Emrick of Wapakoneta; Lisa’s children, Carter and Joselyn Bowman; his siblings, Ann (Charlie) Shoup, Susan (Donnie) Nichols and Jan (Joe) Green, all of Wapakoneta, David (Kim) Emrick of Liberty Township, Tony  (Robin) Emrick of Carmel, Ind.; his nieces and nephews, Craig Walkup, Emily Walkup, Nathan (Alicia) Green, Natalie Green, Joda Green, Jennifer Shoup, Austin, Andrew and Raquel Emrick and Trevor and Taylor Emrick.

He was preceded in death by a niece, Natalie Perry.

Jack owned and operated J & E Electrical in Wapakoneta. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 330, both of Wapakoneta.

A 1984 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, he lettered in football, basketball and track. For 12 years, he served as a licensed football official with the Ohio High School Athletic Association. An avid fan of the Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds,  he was a friend to everyone and enjoyed helping others.

He liked to attend concerts but most especially loved entertaining and spending time with his family. He supported local sports and attended high school games. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Matthew Lee officiating.  

Burial will be at a later date in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Wapakoneta.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., Wednesday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta.
