James Raterman, 67

James Raterman, 67, of Sidney, formerly of Russia, died on Wednesday afternoon June 29, 2011.

He was born on June 1, 1944, in Piqua, to George and Marie (Peltier) Raterman, and they preceded him in death.

On Oct. 17, 1964, he  married Joyce Voisard, and she preceded him in death on April 4, 1987. On July 24, 1994, he married Joyce Meyer, and she survives him.

He is also survived by his daughters, Shelly and Sam Gilardi of Mount Vernon, and Missy (Brad) Francis of Russia; his stepsons, Richard and Chris Meyer of Botkins, John (Angie) Meyer of Botkins, David Meyer of Kettlersville; his grandchildren, Ashley, Jocelyn and Kyle Gilardi, Derek, Danielle, Treg and Corrina Francis, and Cameron Raterman; stepgrandchildren Kyle, Kayla, Collin, Courtney, Cody and Sydney Meyer; his sisters, Janet (Larry) Monnin of Sidney and Julie (Frank) Gilardi of Sidney. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; his sister, Judy. 

He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, and a former member of St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia.  He was also a member of Versailles Eagles and the Sidney Moose Lodge. 

After having various jobs at Copeland Corporation, he retired in 2006, after 44 years of service. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Remy Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Amberger and the Rev. Daniel Schmitmeyer officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Remy Cemetery. 

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Russia.  Condolences may be made at
