Joseph “Jody” A. Barr, 55

Joseph “Jody” A. Barr, 55,  passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

He was born on May 24, 1959.

He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Margie (Jones) Barr; his mother, Connie (Kessler) Barr; brothers, Keith (Susie) and Brian (Pam) Barr; sister, Beth (Bill) Butts; an aunt and uncle, Jack and Marilyn Barr; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Jody was preceded in death by his father, Laurin Barr.  

Jody was a 1977 graduate of Bishop Watterson High School and also attended OSU. He was employed at McNaughton-McKay. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved to spoil his nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, where the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ASPCA (Aspca.org/Donate) or to the Kidney Foundation, in memory of Jody’s friend, Dan Dawson.
