Mark D. Ruschau, 54, of New Bremen, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born on July 11, 1959, in Coldwater to the late Jerome “Jim” and the late Pauline (Mescher) Ruschau.
He married Theresa Nerderman on March 13, 1993, in New Bremen. She survives in New Bremen.
He is also survived by brothers and a sister Michael and Karen Ruschau, of Cridersville; Sandra and Tim Hirschfeld, of St. Marys; David and Molly Ruschau, of Avon; in-laws Rich and Norma Nerderman, of Minster; Sherry and Rob Coffey, of St. Marys; Jeff and Eula Nerderman, of Fishers, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Bremen. He graduated from Brunnerdale High School Seminary, in Canton, and from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselear, Ind.
He worked for Cooper Farms, of St. Henry, and wrote sports articles for The Daily Standard, Celina.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, in New Bremen with the Rev. Tom Mannebach celebrant.
Burial will take place in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The family requests casual attire for the the viewing on Thursday.
A viewing will also be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday.
