Lettermen Lost: 8

Returning Lettermen: 3

2010-2011 Record: 19-4, 8-1 WBL (champions), lost in district tourney to Van Wert

Key Players: Scott Moeder (5-10, G, Sr., 6.1 PPG, 4.8 APG, 1.1 RPG), Clayton Hoyng (6-0, G, Sr., 8.5 PPG, 2.2 APG, 1.8 RPG)

The Scoop: Celina begins the 2011-2012 boys basketball season searching for a core group to replace a group of eight seniors that led the Bulldogs to the regional tournament two seasons ago and a district appearance last season.

“Overall experience is a concern,” seventh-year head coach Chris Bihn said. “We lost eight seniors who played. That is not easily replaced.”

“We will need to work hard on rebounding and defending the paint,” Bihn added

Where there is experience back is the guard position, where Scott Moeder and Clayton Hoyng received substantial minutes as juniors. Derek Waterman also earned a letter last season and will step into the rotation. “Our guard play should be a strength this year as we have three guards returning with experience,” Bihn said.

“We will will be young this season, but we do have a core of experience. We will play hard and fast, hopefully be able to go deep on the bench," Bihn said.
