The Roughriders needed this one.

In a Western Buckeye League match Thursday night at Roughriders Field, the Riders scored in the first half and played shut down defense in the second to earn their third WBL win of the season against Bath 1-0. In addition, the Riders received some much-needed help with a Wapakoneta loss to Celina to pull within one point of the Redskins in the standings. Ottawa-Glandorf continued to pull away with a 3-0 win against Defiance. They have 15 points in the standings while the Redskins have 12 points and St. Marys has 11.

The Roughriders play at Celina on Tuesday.
