St. Marys girls track team 3rd at Wapak Relays

WAPAKONETA — The St. Marys girls track team finished third and the Roughrider boys took sixth at the Wapakoneta Relays on Friday evening.

The Rider girls scored 56 points, trailing only Defiance (70) and second-place Wapakoneta (66).

Ottawa-Glandorf won the 10-team boys meet with 78 points. Anna was second (74), Defiance was third (62.5) followed by Wapak (47.5), Sidney (38) and St. Marys (35).


GIRLS
The St. Marys 3200 meter relay team of  Amanda Dues, Kelly Wilker, Lexi Grothause and Kristen Dammeyer won with a 10:18.88 time. The St. Marys 6400 meter relay team of Dammeyer, Dues, Megan Hertenstein and Wilker won with a 23:14.3 time. The St. Marys distance medley team won with a 13:18.85 time. The Riders’ Erin Kinkley won the high jump, clearing five feet. Dammeyer was fourth in the long jump (14.-11.25) and Ally Angstmann was fifth (14-5). St. Marys’ Mariah Heffner finished fourth in the discus (110-6).

BOYS
The 800 meter relay team of Eric Spicer, Will Walter, Austin Tester and Cam Swanson took second with a 1:34.51 time. The St. Marys boys 400 meter relay team of Spicer, Walter, Tester and Swason finished third with a 45.96 time. The Rider 800 sprint medley team of Spicer, Walter, Tester and Swanson finished third (1:41.1). The St. Marys 440-meter shuffle hurdle team of Luke Lemmerman, Kegan Klinger, William Bayham and Dakota McVety finished fourth (1:07.51).

The St. Marys track team will host a tri-meet on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
