Update: Woman Hit On Ohio 66

ST. MARYS — A St. Marys woman was flown to a Lima hospital after she was hit while walking across Ohio 66 Thursday morning.

According to a report from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at approximately 11:05 a.m., Kathleen M. Jamieson, 74, of St. Marys, was walking from west to east across Ohio 66 when she was struck by a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country minivan driven north on Ohio 66 by Billie J. Cox, 20, of Houston. Jamieson was struck and came to rest in the road.

Cox was uninjured. Jamieson suffered incapacitating injuries and was transported to Joint Township District  Memorial Hospital in St. Marys by members of the St. Marys Fire and Rescue Squad. She was later flown to St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, where she is listed in critical condition, according to a news release from the highway patrol.

Traffic was backed up in both directions for a short period of time as troopers investigated the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
