For both of the co-champions of the Western Buckeye League, Thursday’s Division II district semifinals were a reminder that the tournament is no respecter of titles or trophies.

Bath — a team that went 2-7 in league play in 2015 —  eliminated WBL co-champion St. Marys from the district tournament at Bluffton for the second straight season with a 3-1 win in the opener and then Wapakoneta blasted the other league champ Celina 17-6 in the second game.

St. Marys’ season ends at 17-6.
