Body Found At Lake Loramie State Park

The investigation into the discovery of a burned body at Lake Loramie Sunday morning is still ongoing.
At approximately 10:56 a.m. Sunday, a park officer on routine patrol found a burned car with a body inside at the end of a secluded road on the grounds of Lake Loramie State Park. Ohio Department of Natural Resources Public Information Officer Eric Heis said the car — a Pontiac Grand Prix — and the body were badly burned.
"We are assuming it burned overnight because there was not any smoke in the morning," Heis told The Evening Leader. "We have not ID'd the body, I think the coroner is working on dental records right now."
The Montgomery County Coroner's Office handled the autopsy and is going over dental records. Heis said there is no indication to exactly how long the vehicle and body were at the location before being discovered.
"That is still part of the investigation," Heis said. "It's not a very well traveled path."
Attempts to reach the Shelby County Coroner's Office and Montgomery County Coroner's Office were not successful as of press time. Anyone with information on the matter can contact the state park police at 614-265-6561.
