Driver Crashes Into Cars, Faces OVI Charge

A St. Marys man was charged with OVI after allegedly crashing his vehicle into multiple parked cars Saturday night.
According to a report from the St. Marys Police Department, officers responded to the 900 block of Columbia Street after receiving several phone calls reporting a series of crashes in the area. When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with Chad Clark, 27, of St. Marys. Clark was arrested on OVI, reasonable control and leaving the scene of an accident violations. He allegedly registered a BAC of 0.178 — more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.
Clark's trail of damage started in the 900 block of Cleveland Street where he was traveling east. While on Cleveland Street, Clark allegedly struck three parked vehicles and continued onto Axe Street. While on Axe Street, Clark struck a 1986 Chevy pick up truck. The collision forced the truck into a yard at the corner of Axe and Columbia streets. Clark then turned onto Columbia Street and hit another parked car and forced that vehicle into another vehicle.
In total, Clark damaged six vehicles. Clark was attempting to leave the scene in his heavily damaged pick up truck when he was stopped by a witness. Clark was processed and released to a family member.
