A suspicious person call lead to the arrest of an Ohio City man on Monday.
The Mercer County Sheriff's Office dispatchers received a 911 call from a Washington Township resident at 9:37 a.m. Monday. The resident reported there was a suspicious male in a truck in his driveway.
Deputies responded to the call along with an officer from the Coldwater Police Department, according to a news release from Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey. When deputies arrived, they found the male to be disoriented and unaware of his surroundings. The vehicle was not registered to the operator, and deputies could not make contact with the truck's registered owner, who was from Lima.
Deputies called a wrecker to tow the truck from the scene, and when the truck was moved from the scene, small baggies were found containing Methamphetamines. Shane Richard Burk, 47, of 15921 State Route 709 lot 58, Ohio City, was arrested and transported to the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility.
Burk is currently being held in jail on a $150,000 bond set by Celina Municipal Court Judge James Scheer. Burk is being charged with possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. The case is being sent to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for review of additional charges.
Grey stressed the importance of citizens to calling his office with information.
"This is a perfect example of a vigilant citizen and his deputies working together," Grey said in the release. "We will continue our efforts to combat the drug problem and we appreciate the assistance of our citizens."
