Minster Claims Seventh, New Bremen 16th At Celina Invite

In an 18-team field on a beautiful August morning, the Minster Wildcats girls golf team finished seventh place in a varsity girls golf match in the Celina Invitation.
Van Buren took first place with a 368, Findlay claimed second behind one stroke with a 369 and Versailles took third with a 380.
Emily Knouff of Fort Loramie was the medalist shooting a 69.

Minster shot a 422, with Alli Fischer shooting a team-best 94 during the 18-hole invite. Hannah Koenig shot a 106, Lisa Borges finished with a 107, followed by Sarah Huwer’s 115 and Hallie Sherman’s 141.
New Bremen girls did not fare as well taking 16th in the field of 18 with a 521 score.

Amy Schmitmeke shot a 111, followed by teammates Molly Borkowski, who shot a 132, Claire McClure and Jenna Miller who both tied with a 139, led the Cardinals. Katlyn Broerman rounded out the Cardinals’ day with a 162.

In other team scores, Emily Kncuff shot a team-best 69 for Fort Loramie who finished with a 401 score, sixth best in the invite. Marion Local finished 11th with a team score of 456 and Fort Recovery claimed ninth with a 442 finish.

The Wildcats next match is at the Waynesfield-Goshen Invite Monday morning. New Bremen’s next golf match is at the Arcanum Invite on Monday.
