Minster, New Bremen sending events to regional

SPENCERVILLE — The Minster boys and girls 3200 meter relays swept their ways to Division III district titles while the Wildcats and New Bremen Cardinals advanced field event participants to next week’s regional at Troy on Thursday evening at Spencerville High School. Both Minster’s girls (24 points) and boys (36 points) lead the team standings after the first day.

The Minster girls 3200 meter relay team of Gabrielle Barga, Kaci Bornhorst, Morgan Pohl and Julia Slonkosky won with a 9:39.71 time while New Bremen’s quartet of Makenna Brackman, Aly Alking , Lilly Hirschfeld and Paige Jones took second with a 9:42.56 time.

Minster’s boys 3200 meter relay team of Andrew Fausey, Ben Butler, Conner Tumbusch and Jonathan Fausey won with an 8:21.67 time.
