Many Roughriders games happened over the weekend, with some teams enjoying success.

In girls tennis, the varisty girls team won the Schroeder Invitational at Tipp City Saturday, defeating Celina by one point in a field of eight teams.

In boys soccer, the Roughriders took care of business against non-league foe Bluffton Pirates, a team they tied in a game last season, beating the Pirates 2-0.

Nathan Wilker had scored the only goals in the game for the Roughriders' 2-0 win.

St. Marys varisty volleyball team finished third at the Coldwater Spikeoff Saturday morning. They beat New Knoxville, who took seventh in the competition, 18-25, 29-27, 28-26.

The Roughriders fell to St. Henry in the second game, 17-25, 30-28, 22-25, setting up game three against Fort Loramie winning that game 22-25, 25-16 and 25-22.

The girls soccer team was the one Roughriders team that did not fare so well as they lost in non-league action to Marysville.

A full story on all four teams as well as New Knoxville's performance in the Coldwater Spikeoff and New Bremen volleyball's win over Troy Christian in their season opening game, will be in Monday's edition of The Evening Leader.
