WBL Boys Tennis Championships
LIMA — The St. Marys boys tennis team’s second doubles team of Jacob Grannan and Josh Wingett advanced to the weekend at the WBL boys tennis championships on a balmy Thursday.
Grannan and Wingett won a three-set 6-0, 5-7, 7-6 win over Celina’s Andy Ewing and Heath Laux to advance to the semifinals on Saturday, which resume at 9 a.m.

Track

The St. Marys boys and girls track teams swept a quad meet at Lincolnview on Thursday night. The Roughriders boys scored 120.3 points, led by two individual wins by Cam Swanson. Lincolnview took second with 80 points, Allen East was third with 46.5 points and Lima Central Catholic finished fourth with 8.3 points. The St. Marys girls won with 113.5 points, paced by double wins in the distance events by Kelly Wilker. Lincolnview finished second (55.5), Allen East took third (39) and Lima Central Catholic finished fourth (33). St. Marys boys winners were Swanson in the 100 meter dash (11.1) and the 200 meter dash (23.3), the 800 meter relay team (1:37.1), Matthew Jutte in the mile (4:57.1),  the 400 meter relay team (44.6), Dakota McVety in  the long jump (19-1.25), Jared Goodwin in the shot put (45-3) and Cameron Bowman in the pole vault (12-0). St. Marys girls winners were Kelly Wilker in the mile (5:27.9) and the 3200 (12:02), the 3200 meter relay team (11:15), Kami Menchofer in the 100 hurdles (16.5), the 800 meter relay team (2:01.6) and  the 400 meter relay team (53.9). Roughrider girls second-place finishers were Rachel Meier in the high jump (4-6) and the pole vault (8-6), Jill Schmitmeyer in the 400 (1:09), Aliyah Bubp in the 300 hurdles (55.6), Jacelyn Birt in the discus (81-10), Morgan Brown in the long jump (14-5), Tiley Cramer in the shot put (30-7).
