The St. Marys Roughriders desperately needed a win on Tuesday.

St. Marys has lost three of its last four and on a two-game Western Buckeye League losing streak coming into Tuesday's WBL match against Bath.

And behind a great pitching performance by senior Chase Roop, the Roughriders (7-6, 3-4 WBL) got that much-needed win at KC Geiger Park against a good Bath team.

Roop (2-1) pitched a complete game two-hitter, allowing just one run and striking out six batters on 91 pitches, 62 of them as strikes.

St. Marys offense did just enough to hand Roop his second win as a starting pitcher on the season.

Roop helped himself out with an RBI double in the fourth inning to score Derek Jay to give the Roughriders a 1-0 lead.

Austin Hollandsworth then plated Roop during the next at-bat with an RBI single to give the Roughriders a 2-0 lead heading into the fifth inning.
